2.1 Automatically collected data

When you visit this website, the following is collected automatically:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Date and time of access
• Pages visited and time spent on pages
• Referrer URL (the website from which you reached us)

2.2 Data you provide

• Email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter
• Name and contact details, when you contact us or enquire about a partnership
• Ticket request details: name, email address, company, role, and the links or notes you choose to add when requesting a ticket
• Attendee details for each ticket in an order, where you buy for other people
• Profile details you add in your attendee account: company, job title, LinkedIn URL, bio, photo, and whether you opt in to networking

2.3 Data created by using your ticket

• Your order and payment status, and a payment reference from our payment provider. We never receive or store your full card number.
• A signed QR code per ticket, used to admit you at the door
• Check-in records: when your ticket was scanned, and by which staff account
• Records of emails we sent you about your order, so we can tell whether they arrived

• Selling and fulfilling tickets: processing your request, authorising and capturing payment, issuing your ticket and admitting you to the event (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
• Reviewing ticket requests: deciding whether to approve a request, using the details you submit (contract performance and legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR)
• Website operation and security: keeping the site working and protecting it from abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
• Newsletter: sending updates about our events (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
• Communication: answering your enquiries (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
• Analytics: understanding how the site is used so we can improve it (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
• Networking: showing your profile to other attendees, only if you opt in (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

We use technically necessary cookies to operate this website — for example to keep you signed in and to protect forms from abuse. These do not require your consent.

Beyond that we use analytics (PostHog) to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, or have not yet answered, no analytics cookies are stored on your device.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following providers to operate the event. Each processes personal data on our behalf under a data processing agreement, and only on our instructions:

• Stripe — payment processing, including the card authorisation we place when you request a ticket
• Supabase — database and sign-in, hosted in the EU
• Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery
• Resend — transactional email about your order and ticket
• beehiiv — newsletter delivery, if you subscribe
• PostHog — website analytics, only with your consent
• Tally — the partnership enquiry form

5.1 Event Partners

The event is supported by premium, gold and community partners, listed at our partners page. With your explicit consent, given at registration or through an opt-in confirmation, we share your registration data (name, email address, role, company) with those partners so they can contact you with updates or information connected to the event. Partners act as independent controllers for their own outreach and must comply with the GDPR. Where a partner is established outside the EU/EEA, appropriate transfer mechanisms such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses will be in place. You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in any partner email or by contacting info@techeurope.io.

6. Data Retention

• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe
• Ticket requests that are rejected or expire: until the event is over, so we can answer questions about the decision
• Order and payment records: retained for the statutory periods under German commercial and tax law, which may be up to ten years
• Check-in records: until the event is over and reconciled
• Attendee profile and networking data: until you delete your account
• Website analytics: typically up to 26 months
• Contact enquiries: until the enquiry is resolved and any follow-up is complete

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access (Art. 15): ask what data we hold about you
• Rectification (Art. 16): have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
• Erasure (Art. 17): have your data deleted, subject to the retention periods above
• Restriction (Art. 18): ask us to limit how we process your data
• Portability (Art. 20): receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
• Objection (Art. 21): object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent: where processing rests on consent, withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
• Complain: lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

8. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), access controls and authentication, row-level access rules on our database, signed ticket tokens that cannot be forged, and regular backups.

9. International Data Transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards — Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, an adequacy decision, or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

10. Children's Privacy

This event and these services are not directed at people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
